Facility: An eight lane, 25 yard indoor pool with Colorado System 5 Sports Timer, Infinity Start System, AquaGrip Touchpads, and an eight line scoreboard. Two hundred permanent seats are available inside the competition pool area for spectators and a gym floor will be covered and available for camping out by the swimmers and spectators across the hall. Ample parking is available at the front entrance to the building. Falling Springs Recreation Center is an excellent Championship Aquatic Center.
The following rules will be strictly enforced:
- The two uncovered gym floors, aerobics & fitness center, track, and theater are off limits. Swimmers and spectators are not permitted into these areas.
- No horseplay will be tolerated. Included are shooting baskets or tossing objects while on the covered gym floor.
- Food is permitted in the food court (by the concession stand), on the covered gym floor, and in the coaches and officials hospitality room only. Beverages will be allowed in the pool area but must be in a sealed, spillproof plastic container. No glass containers are permitted inside the building.
- USA Swimming and the VersaillesWoodford Co. Parks and Recreation Department prohibit smoking and alcohol.
- All trash must be deposited in appropriate containers.
- Signs or banners must be hung by masking tape or string only.
- Radios, noisemakers, or anything else that might cause inconvenience to swimmers, coaches, officials, workers, or spectators are prohibited in the pool area. Flash photography is prohibited during the start of heats.
- The operation of cell phones or walkietalkies are prohibited inside the recreation center. Their operation interferes with the communication devices utilized by the meet officials.
- Spectators are not allowed to bring chairs (folding or other types) into the pool area.
However, portable chairs may be used on the covered gym floor. - Los t and found i s located at the reception desk at the entrance to Falling Springs. All items turned into lost and found will be held for 30 days. Any and all items unclaimed after that 30 day period will be disposed of or given to charity. The Falling Springs Arts and Recreation Center, VersaillesWoodford Co. Parks and Recreation Dept., and Bluegrass Swim Team are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
FORMAT : This is a timed finals competition with mixed age classifications for 8under, 910, 1112 swimmers. FINA starting procedures will be used. The FINA system, approved by USA Swimming, uses a series of whistles followed by a onewhistle announcement for swimmers. The No Recall Start Rule will also be enforced during this meet. The use of “flyover starts” will be at the discretion of the Meet Referee. 7 lanes will be used for competition with another lane used for warmdown. No breaks will be taken.
ALL ENTRY TIMES MUST BE IN SHORT COURSE YARDS. ALL EVENTS WILL BE PRESEEDED. CARDS WILL NOT BE USED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF 8 & UNDER EVENTS. SWIMMERS WILL REPORT TO THEIR ASSIGNED BLOCKS. 8UNDERS WILL REPORT TO THE CLERK OF COURSE. HEAT AND LANE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE POSTED BEHIND THE BLOCKS AND DISTRIBUTED TO COACHES.
Bluegrass Swim Team reserves the right to limit heats in each event in order to meet the 4 hour session requirement set by USA Swimming. BST also reserves the right to combine 910 age groups with 1112 age groups in like events to increase competition and reduce the timeline. Events may be swum together but will be scored separately and awards will still be given in separate 910 and 1112 categories.
ELIGIBILITY : Swimmers must be USA registered athletes. Age of swimmer on March 7, 2010 will determine their age group for this meet. The 2010 Official USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.

*If there is enough interest, we will host a combined 8&Under and 13over time trials. If not, we will go directly into the 8under session. This will be determined by March 2 n d an d definitive warmup schedules will be sent to teams.
Note: Warmup lanes will be assigned. Coaches should be prepared to share lane space with other teams.

ENTRY LIMITS : Swimmers may enter four (4) events per day, exclusive of relays. No teams will be separated. All events will be limited in heats in order to meet the 4 hour session limit set by USA Swimming.
RELAYS : Relays will report directly to the blocks and give the head timer their relay card. Cards must show the competing athletes in correct order or the relay is subject to disqualification.
AWARDS : Custom ribbons for 1 s t throug h 8 t h i n all individual and relay events. All awards are to be picked up at the meet. No awards will be mailed.
RESULTS : Upon the meet’s conclusion results will be distributed via email to each team’s entry contact and submitted to KY Swimming for retrieval from the KYLSC website.
OPEN SORES : No swimmer will be permitted on deck or in the pool if they are bleeding or have an open sore/wound/cut. The meet referee and/or meet director will have discretionary power to determine if a wound is serious enough to warrant removal of a swimmer from the pool and/or deck.
OFFICIALS : Bluegrass Swim Team welcomes the assistance of any visiting parents who would like to serve as officials. Please email Wayn Reams ( ) if you are interested in officiating. Include which sessions you will be available to work.
TIMERS : Each team will be required to supply timers based on the number of their entries. We will notify you by email regarding your team’s requirement prior to the meet.
COACHES REGISTRATION : All coaches must be currently registered with United States Swimming. Each team should submit a list of all coaches that will be in attendance. Coaching credentials must be worn at all times.
COACHES MEETING : There will be a mandatory coaches’ meeting at 8:00 AM in the hospitality room .
SCORING: This meet will not be scored.
ADMISSION & HEAT SHEETS: There will be a $2 admission charge. Heat sheets will be available for $3.00 for each session.
CONCESSIONS: Falling Springs Arts & Recreation Center will be operating a concession stand at the site.
HOSPITALITY : There will be a hospitality room for coaches and officials immediately off of the pool deck and operating through most of the meet.
