Important Dates

9-26– Last to register for the CSC Fall Frenzy

9-26 – Race for the Cure!

9-29– Last Day of two-week trial for new swimmers.

10-2– last day to register for the Jack Thompson Invitational.

10/16-10/18– Jack Thompson Invitational, Louisville.

Great Start

The first week of practice went great!  Thanks to all of the parents for getting their swimmer there and thanks to all of the swimmers for showing up ready to work hard!

Direct Athletics

Everyone should have received their DA account info by email on Monday.  If not, please contact Lainey ASAP.  Please log in to DA to confirm that you can access your account immediately.

Upcoming Meets

We have two meets listed on DA now.  They are the CSC Fall Frenzy in Indianapolis and the Jack Thompson Invitational in Louisville.  The Jack Thompson meet is a great meet for first time swimmers.  It’s fairly close by and will have a wide variety of abilities.  It’s nice for new families because the swimmers and parents can sit together.  The CSC Fall Frenzy is a great meet.  It’s held at the IUPUI Natatorium, which has been the sight of the Olympic Trials many times.  It is a highly competitive meet, but anyone can attend.  We must have all entries for this meet by Sept. 26!!  We will not be able to submit any late entries for this meet! If you would like some guidance about meet choices, please talk to one of the coaches or Lainey.

Communications

If you have not joined the yahoo group you need to do so ASAP.  There is a link on our website that will lead you through the process.  If you have trouble, please email Lainey.  Also, all families should have a file folder at the pool.  Please check and make sure you have one, if not let Lainey know.

Tent

When will the tent go up?  The tent is scheduled to go up at the end of September.  When the exact dates are set we will let you know.  We are usually able to practice through most of the process, but there might be a day or two when the swimmers will do dryland instead of water.  We’ll keep you posted.

Race for the Cure

Any Dolphin swimmers who did not register in time to “officially” be on the LEXD team for Race for the Cure can still register as an individual and run/walk with the group.  This will be practice for the blue and red groups on Saturday. Yellow group will practice for any swimmers not running. Red and blue swimmers need to register as a competitive runner, any other swimmers and family members may register however they would like.

Weather

Even while the tent is down we will swim in the rain if possible.  We will not swim if there is thunder or lightning if the tent is up or down.  We will always make every effort to get the word out ASAP if there are weather cancellations.  If you are uncertain, please check your email and the website before leaving your home.

Fall Splash

The Fall Splash is Nov. 14.  We are currently looking for donations for the live and silent auctions.  Please email Christy McLellan at if you have any items you can donate.
